“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”—Martin Luther King, Jr.
The wisdom of “no one said life was supposed to be easy” echoes louder to me now. So much that I keep coming back to it, dissecting it, and applying it. I try to show gratitude for it now. And yet, wonder why it took me so long to do so.
Life, in its intricate nature, is a journey of trials shaping us into resilient beings. We discreetly refine the art of compartmentalization, often a double-edged sword granting us the ability to revel in life’s extraordinary fragments of love, camaraderie, and compassion.
We reiterate to our loved ones, and hopefully to ourselves: Every storm brings about a rainbow — a testament to life’s unwavering promise of beauty after the rain.
So here’s to embracing the challenges, knowing that within them, sublime moments await.
Life can be messy, but at its core lies its brilliance.
