Meet Shannon: The Heart Behind Vienna Lane

Thanks for stopping by! I’m Shannon, mama to twins and a toddler, a wild Schipperke pup, Blue, and a curious kitty, Coco. I’d like to say I’m a pretty passionate person, juggling the beautiful (and messy!) seasons of life.

By profession, I’m a licensed social worker, deeply committed to understanding the intricacies of the human spirit. But where my heart lies? Being a stay-at-home-mama to my energetic twins and vivacious toddler.

I never thought our family would look like this (twins…and three under three!?) but I can’t imagine it any other way. To say we are blessed is an understatement.

Still, some of these days (ok, a lot of them) are rough! You mamas get it. With that in mind, I soak in every second of ‘me time’ like it’s my last! I truly feel at peace with a strong cup of Jo (or matcha) accompanied by some deep, moody mix. Add in a smoky fireside candle and all is well.

While my mind finds solace in the comfort of home, I’m also a believer in the power of adventures, of embracing the risks. Whether discovering a new cafe, indulging in a spread of too many sweets or immersing myself in the vibrant, ever-evolving world of art and culture, I’m always up for an awakening experience. Balance is key for me, and my sanity.

This blog, Vienna Lane—named after my daughter, Scarlett Vienna—is my sanctuary, a hole-in-the-wall creative space where I spill the sweet, sometimes scary, stories of everyday life and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Throughout our site you’ll find a blend of informative pieces and heartfelt narratives where motherhood, mental health, and the art of mindfulness intertwine. Because don’t they? For myself, they do in so many ways and for many women I’ve been lucky to cross paths with.

Here, we allow for space to be vulnerable, confident, willing to listen and learn – but also, to speak and teach. We empower one another.

Girl power to the max – in all lanes we walk.

So, grab your favorite roast, get cozy, and let’s explore the beautiful, messy, and inspiring world of Vienna Lane together.

See you soon,

Shannon
